Last year, during my internship at Nickelodeon, I had the chance to head a mural project with my fellow 'Nickterns.' We went to a adult/child community center called ONEgeneration. This was the first place I've seen where seniors and young children spend time together, interacting by playing games, gardening, and enjoying each others' company. The goal of the mural was to show how uplifting this is and to display the interaction between generations.
My team and I worked very hard to generate art comps for ONEgeneration to choose from, while concurrently gathering up all the materials we wouldd need. I was super flattered to have my design chosen, and then started to break down the colors into a 'paint by number' type of system so that anyone could pick up a print out, the corresponding paint color, and go to work. Above is my quick and dirty comp for the concept. Below is the wall before we started as well as two 'paint by number' pages that were used to coordinate colors. At the bottom is how it turned out after all was said and done:) What an awesome team, day, and experience. Thanks Nickterns!
Emily and the Documentation Team, made an awesome video showing the mural as well as a desert garden develop over the day- all Nicktern powered.
